RPM Reference:PC1209232
Manufacturer:Impact Air
Type:ZigZag Seperation System
Model:ZigZag
Year:2019
Hours:2000
Condition:Excellent
Price:POA

Description

  • The Zigzag Separation System offers a bespoke, fully adjustable cascade cleaning solution which can
be easily integrated into most recycling facilities. The zigzag separation system is typically applied to
separate materials of different sizes or densities.
  • Material is fed into the zigzag system via a variable speed material in-feed rotary valve where it then
enters the cascade enclosure and has to fall through an upward air stream. Differences in particle
shape and density cause the lighter material to be lifted by the air stream, leaving the heavier den-
sity material to discharge from the bottom under the action of gravity. The cascade enclosure is con-
structed of heavy gauge mild steel to ensure increased durability.
  • The lighter material is then transported through a range of heavy-duty ductwork into a model
RS20HD rotary separator for further separation. A slowly rotating six blade rotor fitted with heavy
duty rubber seals forces the conveying air through a perforated screen. Material that passes through
the rotary valve falls out through the discharge chute below.
  • Any dust and fine particles will then be conveyed from the separator outlet via a range of ductwork
into a fully automatic model 164m° tubular bag reverse jet filter unit, responsible for cleaning the
conveying air stream. This filter unit is to be fitted with ATEX rated explosion panels and also an
ATEX rated mechanical backdraught damper to prevent the pressure wave traveling back don the
duct system in the highly unlikely event of an explosion with in the filter.
  • An uprated filter size as part of our scope. This allows the installation of a second zig zag tower and
rotary separator at a later date should it be deemed necessary.
  • A paddle blade belt driven material handling fan will produce the suction for the conveying air stream in this circuit powered by a 15kW Motor
  • In addition to the zig zag separation system we also propose to install a dust control system to
manage the dust produced by your shredder.
  • This system is to comprise of a bespoke dust capture hood (Approximately 3mx3m) installed above
the shredder to capture the dust plume as it rises. To make the hood efficient in terms of air
movement we propose to design this hood with velocity plates fitted to the underside. These plates
reduce the volume of air required but substantially increasing the velocity of the extraction around
the perimeter of the unit. This allows the hood to capture the dust before it spills out of the sides.
The discharge from the hood is to feed in to a heavy-duty ducting system 400mm in diameter
before passing to a model 40 heavy duty material handling fan fitted with a 22kw electric motor. The
discharge from this fan is to pass via an ATEX rated mechanical backdraught damper into a common
reverse jet bag filter model 165m2 serving both the zig zag system and the shredder dust
    management system.
  • To allow both systems to run independently of each other backdraught dampers are to be installed
in each duct system to prevent short circuiting
  • Both the Zig zag cascade tower and the Rotary separator are to be installed on steel support plat-
forms above individual bunkers (Supplied by client) which receive the different grades of product.
These support structures are to be installed with access ladders, walk ways and handrails to allow
    inspection and maintenance.
  • The tubular bag reverse jet filter is to be installed with extended legs and rotary valve to the dis-
charge to allow the dust to be deposited directly into bulk bags.
A bespoke control panel is to be supplied and installed comolete with colour screen to allow operation and adjustment of the system.
