This de-packaging shredder is designed to separate products from their packaging so both the contents and packaging can be recovered, recycled, or disposed of appropriately. In food and glass waste applications, the machine breaks open jars, bottles, cans, pouches, and other containers without excessively shredding the food, ensuring the organic fraction can be sent for anaerobic digestion or composting. The process also includes effective separation of heavier glass fragments to prevent contamination, with low-speed, high-torque rotors to reduce smearing and minimise fine glass particles.

The typical process involves feeding packaged goods into the shredder, breaking the packaging and glass, then separating the food slurry from plastics, metals, and glass. The organic fraction can then be used for renewable energy production, while packaging and glass are sent for recycling or disposal. This approach reduces landfill waste, lowers disposal costs for expired or damaged goods, and boosts sustainability by increasing recovery rates for both organics and packaging materials.
