Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) is created following the processing of mixed waste materials such as paper, cardboard, low-grade polyolefins film and other light fraction materials.

There are materials with calorific value (this means they can be burnt).

Previously these would have gone to landfill.

In the recycling and separation process the light fraction material can be removed (using air separation) ready for shredding to create a product for use as fuel.

Users of RDF/ SRF waste recycling machinery are typically energy recovery facilities and waste management processors.
