Description

The Impact Air ZigZag Waste Separation System Model 800/250 is an industrial air-based waste separation system used mainly in recycling, waste processing, and material recovery facilities (MRFs). It separates light materials (plastic film, paper, dust) from heavier materials (glass, metals, stones, dense plastics) using controlled airflow in a zig-zag chamber.

System comprising of the following:
  1. Zigzag Cascade Enclosure (3 Stages)
  • vertical zig-zag chamber where waste falls downward through angled channels.
  • Air is pulled upward through the chamber.
  • This creates separation:
    • Light materials → carried upward by air.
    • Heavy materials → fall down through the zigzag stages.

3 stages means the material changes direction three times, which improves separation efficiency.

Integrated support brackets allow the chamber to be mounted to the structural frame.

  1. Heavy Duty Cyclone – Model HR10/1090

cyclone separator removes light materials and dust from the airflow.

How it works:

  1. Air carrying light waste enters the cyclone.
  2. Air spins rapidly.
  3. Centrifugal force pushes particles to the wall.
  4. Particles fall to the bottom outlet.

Purpose:

  • Recover light fractions (film, labels, paper, dust).
  • Protect the filter and fan.
  1. Cyclone Discharge Rotary Valve (1.5 kW Motor)

This valve sits under the cyclone outlet.

Functions:

  • Continuously discharges collected material.
  • Maintains an air seal so airflow is not lost.
  • Prevents air leaking back into the cyclone.

The 1.5 kW motor rotates the valve pockets.

  1. Extraction Fan (30 kW) with Acoustic Enclosure

The fan provides the airflow that drives the whole separation process.

  • 30 kW motor = large industrial airflow capacity.
  • Pulls air:
    • Through the zigzag chamber
    • Through the cyclone
    • Into the filtration system.

The acoustic enclosure reduces noise levels in the plant.

  1. Fully Automatic Reverse Jet Filter (ACF-T 182H)

dust filtration system that cleans the air before it is released.

Features:

  • Reverse jet cleaning: pulses of compressed air knock dust off filter bags.
  • Dust falls into the 150-litre collection bin.
  • Prevents dust emissions and keeps airflow efficient.
  1. Heavy-Duty Waste Conveying Ductwork

Industrial mild steel ducting connecting the system components various lengths & bends available.

  1. Electrical Control Panel

Controls and automates the system.

Includes:

  • VSD (Variable Speed Drive) for the fan
    • Adjusts airflow and energy use.
